Andrew Johnston represents Michigan PIP, no-fault, and auto injury clients at Koussan Law. UDM Law J.D. Decade of insurance-defense experience.
At Koussan Law, Andrew represents Michigan injury victims in PIP / no-fault claims, third-party auto cases, and a range of personal injury matters; bringing a defense-tested eye to plaintiff-side advocacy.
Before joining Koussan Law, Andrew spent his career at Michigan insurance defense firms — including Kopka Pinkus Dolin and CURE Insurance — where he represented carriers in first-party PIP disputes, third-party motor vehicle claims, and broader liability matters across the state.
That defense-side background is now an asset for Koussan Law's clients. Andrew knows how adjusters value a file, how defense counsel build their reserves, and where insurance carriers tend to overplay their hand on coverage and liability. He uses that perspective to position cases for stronger settlements and to anticipate every move the other side is likely to make.
Andrew earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2014.
State of Michigan — admitted 2014. Practicing in Michigan state and federal courts ever since.
Andrew chose to move from the defense bar to the plaintiff side because of what he saw repeatedly inside insurance defense files: injured Michigan residents who had paid premiums for years, only to be questioned, undervalued, or denied when they needed the policy most. He brings that institutional knowledge — and a measured, prepared advocacy style — to every Koussan Law client he represents.
