Tony's practice covers the full personal injury spectrum for Upper Peninsula clients: motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, worker's compensation, and serious injury litigation. His broad practice background — across criminal defense, family law, employment, and personal injury — gives Koussan Law's UP clients an attorney who understands both the human and economic dimensions of every case.
Legal Experience
After law school, Tony co-founded a Michigan firm focused on criminal defense and family law, then joined Rettig, Rademacher, Clark, Bray & Cameron, P.C. in Escanaba where he protected workers' rights in worker's compensation matters. Before establishing Superior Law, he served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's office in Ann Arbor, prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases.
Education
A Dearborn, Michigan native, Tony earned his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School after graduating from Albion College with a degree in Political Science and Economics. While at Wayne State he was active in the Free Legal Aid Clinic, Inc. assisting indigent clients with family law matters, and clerked for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

State of Michigan — admitted 2009. Tony's Michigan practice spans criminal defense, prosecution as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Washtenaw County, employment, worker's compensation, and personal injury — now centered on plaintiff-side personal injury work for Upper Peninsula clients.
Personal Insight
In his community, Tony has served on the Escanaba City Board of Zoning and the Escanaba Planning Commission. His Dearborn, Michigan roots and decades in the Upper Peninsula give him a uniquely Michigan-grounded perspective on the clients he represents.
